Portland Rose Parade

In June I got to go with a small group of students up to Oregon to work on floats at the Portland Rose Parade. It was an awesome opportunity and it was amazing what they did with those floats! Every inch of the floats was covered with some type of natural material, like cornmeal, wheat, barley, strawflower petals, and tons of other things. The florists then got to come in and cover the floats with flowers!

Our small group worked on the smaller floats, like this one. There were buckets of flowers available for every arrangement, so it was fun to use as many flowers as we wanted.

The main designer on this float ran out of time, so we got to do almost all the flowers for it.
They had several really big floats that were just amazing. The float company thought we did a great job and invited us to come down to Pasadena in December to help with the Rose Bowl Parade. Wouldn't that be fun!
