2007 Christmas
We had a great Christmas this year. Hank found the perfect Christmas tree in Irish Canyon during hunting season. When we went home to Colorado for Thanksgiving, we cut it down, along with one for my family, and brought them home. Our tree was a skinny and tall one so it fit snuggly, but perfectly in our living room. We also made fresh wreaths at a workshop at school. They were so fun to make and made our house feel festive. Everyone came home for Christmas and we had a wonderful time together. We are so blessed to have such wonderful families. I had a three week break between semesters. It was great! I spent the time with my family, de-junking our apartment, and working a little at the flower shop. Hank had to work, but got a few days off. The family got a Wii for Christmas and Hank is now a pro bowler and tennis player. It's pretty fun.
On Christmas night we dressed up as shepherds and wise men and had a traditional shepherd dinner (ha ha. We would have been very rich shepherds!) with hummus, pita bread, nuts, olives, cheese, grape juice and dried fruit. Santa also came a day early for us so that Dave and Julie could be there. No one complained about that! We are so thankful for Christmas and that it gives us the opportunity to be with family. We are thankful for the birth of our Savior and for his life and example!
