A couple months after we moved into our new house, we decided to become chicken farmers! I built a coop, along with the help of my father- and brother-in-laws, during Christmas Break. We got the chickens free from a neighbor (you can't beat that!) and they are young, but laying. They should be good for several years. We eat a lot of eggs, and sell some to Stan and Kristi, but we still can barely keep up. We have 10 hens, and 1 rooster. We usually get 8 or 9 eggs a day, but just the other day we got 10 eggs and one of them was huge! It had a double yoke. So, we are having a pretty good time with our chickens!
