We are extra lucky because we get to have two Christmases every year. My family does Christmas the day before so that all the married children don't have to choose between families for Christmas. So we all had a wonderful Christmas on the 24th. Everyone (but Jon) was there, and it was Grandma and Grandpa Finlayson's turn to spend Christmas with us as well. We had a delightful time and got more gifts than we deserved! We also got to talk with Jon and he sounds like he is tired but happy. We can't wait for him to get home! Only a quarter of a year left!
The holidays are such a wonderful time to celebrate Christ's birth with all our family near. We especially love that Dave and Julie have been able to fly home for the short break every year so far. We took this picture right after waking Cooper to drive back to our house. He was still a little tired!
We left for Craig about noon on the 24th and it only took us 8 hours. Only 1 extra hour than normal! That is excellent for us, considering that the first time we drove over to Craig after Cooper was born, it took us at least 10 hours. Just outside of Jackson we ran across a herd of Big Horn Sheep. They were close to the road so Hank hopped out of the car and took some pictures. We have seen them there before and they must not be too afraid of humans because we didn't seem to bother them at all!
We had a wonderful Christmas at Gale's. Cooper got a lot of fun new toys and a beautiful toy box from Grandpa Bryan. And Cooper loves to play with his Grandma Debbie! They had the best time with his toys and the electrical train.
Cooper started to pull himself up to standing with gusto on Christmas and he even started taking a few steps with this toy. I think he'll be walking soon. I feel like such a proud parent every time he accomplishes another milestone. He is such a sweet little guy and we love him so much!!
